This was previously called granuloma inguinale.

Cause: the bacteria Chlamydia granulomatis

Symptoms: painless genital ulcers with tissue destruction sometimes involving groin lymph nodes

Complications: loss of tissue, infection with other bacteria, scarring

Treatment: antibiotics, sometimes for long periods of time

Prevention: Avoid contact with anyone with genital ulcers.
