Too much friction associated with love making is not just uncomfortable. It may lead to bladder or vaginal infections and it certainly makes sex a lot less fun! Some couples use additional lubrication for sexual relations. There are several types of lubrication which can be used.
WATER SOLUBLE LUBRICATIONS
K-Y Jelly and Lubafax are the lubricants that doctors often use. You can also try baby lotions such as Johnson's or Vaseline Intensive Care. The advantage of water soluble lubrications is that they rinse off with just plain water.
OIL BASED LUBRICATIONS
You can also use oil based lubrications such as baby oil or vaseline. These have the advantage that their lubricating properties last longer. They have the disadvantage that they do not come off easily without soap and water. Most oil based lubricants greatly weaken condoms, making them much more likely to break
SPECIAL LUBRICATIONS
Some products are designed specifically for lubrication for sex. Most of these are very good.
The choice of lubrication is up to the couple. For maximum lubrication, particularly for couples who use condoms, products like Comfort or Astroglide are excellent.
If you use a spermicide for birth control (diaphragm, suppositories or foam) you should use spermicidal cream or jelly for additional lubrication.
The lubricants discussed above can be used by almost anyone. Very rarely a woman or man might be allergic to one of them.
